Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models Set To Tackle Dubuque Speedway

Dubuque, Iowa: Simmons Promotions is proud to welcome the stars of the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association to the high banks of the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway on Friday, May 13th.
This special event will bring many of the Midwest's very best Open Late Model drivers to the Dubuque Speedway for the very first time. Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa has ended his one year hiatus from racing and will be at the Dubuque Speedway looking to capture the $5,000 first place prize money. Birky will face very stiff competition from the defending champion of the MLRA, Terry Phillips of Springfield Missouri. In addition Jesse Stovall of Billings, Missouri will be in competition, Stovall was victorious when the MLRA visited the Farley Speedway in 2015. Additional Iowa Late Model standouts expected to compete will be Chad Simpson of Mt Vernon, Chris Simpson of Oxford, Denny Eckrich of Tiffin, Dave Eckrich of Cosgrove, Justin Kay of Wheatland, Joel Callahan of Dubuque and Jason Utter of Columbus Junction.
The night will feature two classes of Late Models as the IMCA Late Models will also be in action with a $1,000 paycheck awaiting the winner.
The Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway is located on the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on the west edge of Dubuque, Iowa just off of US Highway 20 on Fairgrounds Road. Grandstand gates will open at 5:30 pm with hot laps set for 7 pm with racing to follow.
